Auxiliary Power Units for Silent
Watch Operations (APU)
Silent high peak power sustained over a long
duration when needed
Until now electrical power has been supplied by
the vehicle main engine's generator. Since this is
very inefficient, particularly when engine is
idling, there is an increasing need for an auxiliary
power unit (APU) that can feed subsystems with high
peak power, and sustained over a long duration when
needed. Examples of subsystems are air condition
system, observation equipment, fire control systems,
and possibly a remote weapon systems.
- Power supply to the vehicles electrical
consumers while the main engine is not running.
- Vehicle Battery Charging.
- Power up to 7,5 kW.
- Runs on diesel.
- Individual integration and prototyping to
military vehicles.
- Power management design.
- Low weight and volume.
The APU has been developed to provide reliable
power and best solution for space/weight
constraints, and the operational requirements of the
vehicle platform.
