Falck Schmidt increases composite capabilities
With the acquisition of Xperion ACE composite
manufacturing capabilities in Fredericia, Denmark, Falck Schmidt
will further develop and expand the long tradition of the two
companies’ capabilities in manufacturing of composites
components in carbon fibre and glass fibres.
Falck Schmidt Advanced Composites Engineering
The new company in the Falck Schmidt family - Falck Schmidt
Advanced Composites Engineering (FS ACE) will continue its 15
years of experience in design, development and production of
advanced composites.
FS ACE will continue to develop and produce composite tubes,
witch basic characteristics are high strength, large specific
stiffness and low weight.
FS ACE will focus on of the company's long experience in
transforming elements in composites to fulfil the customers
special and some time unique requirements.
Low weight composites with high strength
By continuously working on improving the production method
and using 'Filament Winding' and 'Out-of-autoclave' technology,
FS ACE obtain a very effective production process with reduced
manufacturing costs. This also leads to products with
- Low weight and cost.
- High structural strength and integrity with few
connections.
- Armour and/or ballistic capability can be integrated
and/or added to the products.
- High ballistic damage tolerance.
Out-of-autoclave technology
A primary key factor in using 'Out-of-autoclave' technology
is an increasing production volume capability while improving
cost. This enables FS ACE to use structural composites in
designing and production of parts to military vehicles and
helicopters.
FS ACE will continuously develop the competences of its
current employees and deliver high end products to the existing
customer platform from industries like:
- Wind energy.
- Nautical Industry.
- Automation industry.
- Air Crafts/Aerospace.
- Building and Construction Industry.
- Defence Industry.
